Kelly's Belly Session | North Carolina Maternity Photographer

I am the WORST when it comes to blogging!!!!!!! If I had a million hands I could get so much more done, but then I'd look really scary and kids would not let me photograph them :P

So, Kelly's belly session from this summer has FINALLY made the blog!!!!!! It was SOOOOOO hot the day that we shot this session, but she was such a trooper! We started out at her and her husband's gorgeous home ... she is an amazing decorator!!!!!!! Their super sweet dogs were complete hams and not one bit shy in front of the camera.

We then moved the shoot to her twin sister's waterfront home in Washington. No surprise that her home was just as gorgeous ... must be a twin thing ;) Anyhoo, did I mention that Kelly was a trooper during her shoot??? No questions asked when I suggested putting on a cute bathing suit and hopping in the water and OMG ... can you say "hot mama"?!???!!!!???!?!!

Halloween Doggy Style | Life

Dogs in costumes. That's all this is, people. 

Moose is a scary dinosaur and Layla is a dainty ballerina. If you have had the pleasure of meeting either of them then you know that he is so not scary and she is far from dainty. They could honestly care less about how embarrassingly cute they look in their Halloween attire ... he just wants to play ball and she wants to play with the lawn guys. They are going to wear these outfits all night.

On the agenda for the evening:

1. Eat the candy that will never be given out 

(not because we are ass', but because we never get trick-or-treater's)

2. Make something pinteresty for dinner

3. Watch 28 Days Later (not my choice ... that movie is SCARY)

4. Drink alcohol

I'm sure that all of you parents out there have been wondering what us child-less folks do on Halloween. Now ya know. You are welcome :P

Jordan might just be one of the sweetest and most gorgeous mama's out there. She has the most exquisite taste and owns a wonderful home decor shop, Coastal Fog, here in Greenville while her husband is finishing up his last year in East Carolina University's Med School. This lovely couple and their tail waggin' retrievers are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the newest addition to their family! He's running a bit late, but when Mister Crew makes his appearance into this world he is going to be surrounded by so many people that are already in love with him :)

The Move | Part 2

I really should rename this personal series of blog posts "Our Walks" because the weather in Boston has been ridiculously AMAZING and that seems to be all that I'm doing ... walking with the dogs!!!! I really do love this city when it's not freezing. No matter which part of Boston you live in there are parks all around you. We frequent Dorchester Park since it's half a mile from us and is dog friendly. Every time we go we make "30-second" friends ... you know, the friends that only last for a hot second and then they are back to their everyday lives that don't have anything to do with you. We made quite a few of those friends today and at one point I'm pretty sure Moose was asking some little 2 year old girl to take him home with her. Layla decided that she wanted to roll around in the dirt again and was so proud of herself when she was done. I really think that I'm going to miss these parks more than anything. Arnold Arboretum is probably my most favorite park!!!!! It's close to our house but not close enough to walk and if Moose wasn't such a sissy we'd hop right on a bus and go to it everyday! There's also Jamaica Pond right around the corner from the Arboretum. That's the first place that Moose ever went for real swimming .... I was freakishly proud of him that day. There's also the Blue Hills Reservation that's about a 10 minute drive from us and that place is super cool!!!!! Anyways, today I didn't have any issues getting Moose to walk to the park (because I'm an amazing dog whisperer) ... it was leaving the park that was an issue. We had to walk around the loop twice before he would leave!

I know that we have a greenway right across the street from us in Greenville, but it's not the same. Maybe one day they will stop building all of those empty office spaces and restaurants and focus on giving the community more parks.

If y'all have been following my work for a while I'm sure that you've notice all the super hot photos for Set. Salon! Well, we were able to get together the last time that I was in NC and do a personal shoot for Su, the salon owner, and her parents. Susan, is gonna be starting off 2012 in BIG ways ... she's packing things up and moving her life to San Francisco!!! 

Susan is one of the most courageous, giving, loving, non-judgemental, and fun girls that I know! She is making a huge and selfless decision to leave her dogs with her parents in NC because miss Gemma girl is no city dog and Su can't imagine separating the two canine soul sister's. Not to mention the lack of time she will have to take care of them in order to get her foot in the door there. She will keep working to help bully breeds get into the homes that they deserve by volunteering her free time to local bully organizations when she gets there, though! She has dedicated tons of her time and energy the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina and the animals that they take in. Y'all checkout the Humane Hunnies calender that she and Moxie Promotions put together! 100% of the proceeds go right to the HSEC!!!!

Every time I would walk into her salon I would meet a new and amazing person or run into great friends that I already had. This place is seriously just like the salon in Steel Magnolias ... just with a more edgy crowd. It really feels like a second home every time you walk in the door.  Su, we are gonna miss you so much in NC. 

You are truly one of a kind and I am blessed to have you as a friend!!!!!

Frozen Doggy Treats | Photographer | Lifestyle

I don't usually let them on the sofa, but when I walked into the living room and saw this I just couldn't get mad. They look like they need a little bit of a pick me up, don't they? Well lucky for them I had just  had a recipe forwarded to me by my big sister ... Frozen yogurt treats! She must have been reading my mind because I totally had just looked in the fridge and glanced at this huge tub of yogurt wondering what in the hell I was gonna do with it. Now, I know that yogurt is good for you and I buy it with the intention of making myself like it, but I just can't. Remember that show "You Can't Do That On Television"? I think of yogurt like the slime that they used to dump on peoples heads ... yuck. The dogs love that stuff though! So, this is all you have to do to make your 4-legged kids mucho happy:

Delish and healthy Frozen Dog Treats

1. Mash up your bananas that are too soggy for you to want to eat anymore

2. Put bananas, yogurt and yummy peanut butter in the blender

3. Blend (some people really need to see this step posted)

4. Pour mixture into empty ice trays and freeze

5. When frozen give to smiling dogs ;)

Now i guess that you could put a popsicle stick in the end of these and give the to your 2-legged kids if you like, but I don't have any of those, so more for the dogs!!!

Note: Greek yogurt is where it's at for those of you that think that regular yogurt is too slime-like.
